Welcome to introduction to microcomputer applications! Survey of application packages including Windows, word processing, spreadsheets, Internet, presentation and graphics. Includes hardware concepts and basic computer terminology and email. Guidelines for selecting and evaluating hardware and software.

Student Outcomes
Demonstrate knowledge, comprehension and application of input and output devices, processing hardware (such as microprocessor, random access memory), and storage devices as stated in the course syllabus.
Demonstrate knowledge, comprehension and application of Windows - graphic user interface (including at least the following concepts: disk and file management, and Linking and embedding files).
Demonstrate knowledge, comprehension and application of concepts and objectives for word processing software as stated in the course syllabus (at least the following concepts and techniques: create, edit, and print a document, basic formatting and text enhancement, spell checker, table, footnote, graphics features, and preparation of commonly used documents).
Demonstrate knowledge, comprehension and application of concepts and objectives for spreadsheet software as stated in the course syllabus (at least the following concepts and techniques: enter, edit, and format data, enter formulas and functions (sum, average, if, minimum, maximum, count), preparation of graphs, and principles of worksheet design and verification).
Demonstrate knowledge, comprehension and application of concepts and objectives for presentation software.
Transfer data from one application to another.
